Idaho State Pay Schedules
Grade-and-step salary schedules for Idaho state civil-service employees, sourced from the state's own HR publications and shown with their effective dates.
Idaho publishes its civil-service pay as salary structures rather than one statewide table, and the four loaded here are all range plans: each grade carries an annual minimum and maximum, with no fixed steps between them. All four take effect June 8, 2025 and are labelled for fiscal years 2026 and 2027.
The four structures are Primary, IT & Engineering, Nursing & Healthcare and Public Safety. A job sits on one of them according to the kind of work it does, so the structure has to be identified before a grade means anything.

Grades are letters, not numbers
Idaho labels its pay grades with letters — the loaded structures run from D through V, seventeen grades apiece. There is no grade 1 or grade 12 to look up, so a number taken from another state will not resolve here. What a civil-service pay grade is covers what a grade represents once you have the right label.
The state also assigns its own grade numbering alongside the letters, and that numbering skips values, so it orders the grades without counting them. We keep the letter as the identifier and use the number only to sort.
What a range means here
Because these are range plans, a grade gives a floor and a ceiling rather than a row of step values. Where a particular position sits between the two depends on the state’s own rules and the hiring agency, and those specifics are not part of the published structure.

Comparing the four structures
The structures share the same grade letters but not the same money: a grade on the Public Safety structure and the same letter on the Primary structure are different pay lines. Compare within a structure, never across them.
Job classifications are not yet loaded for Idaho, so there is no title-by-title lookup on this site for the state at present. The structures below are the pay lines those titles are assigned to.
